The history of the brand

The company, which we know now as Big Lots, was founded by Sol Shenk in 1967. Shenk loved to make crazy closing deals, particularly with automobiles and vehicles of all kinds. In 1970, Consolidated International started operating as a corporation. The Odd Lots/Big Lots closeout chain was started in 1982 by Consolidated.

The company also introduces ship-from-store capability through selected outlets, which allowed thousands of goods to be fulfilled more quickly. They have an integrated web and store capability to provide smooth returns, price coherence, and visibility for orders across platforms for a perfect online and on-site experience.
