 History of Pizza Hut:

Two brothers, Frank and Dan Carney established Pizza Hut in 1958 in Wichita, Kansas, when they were studying. In the beginning, they only had a single location, but within 6 months, the brothers opened another outlet, and after one year, they had 6 of them. In 1959 they decided to operate the company via a franchising system. The enigmatic building of Pizza Hut was sketched by George Lindstrom, a Chicago architect, in 1963 and was built in 1969.

PepsiCo obtained Pizza Hut in 1977 and managed it for 20 years, and sold it in 1997 to Tricon Global Restaurants. In 2002 TGR Pizza Hut became part of YUM! Brands Inc.

In 2020 Pizza Hut filed for bankruptcy and announced that it would close almost 300 of its restaurants.
