Stein Mart, partnering with Synchrony Financial, started selling a private-label credit card to give consumers more inspiration and loyalty. The transaction also provides the organization with greater financial results than its agreement with MasterCard that is still in force.

Eschewing shoes, Stein Mart chooses to give his clothing department to the established shoe dealers. In all the Stein Mart shops, DSW is the exclusive shoe operator.
